A host of golden daffodils!

I was inspired by the floral meadows at the Olympic Park but dont have much sun in my garden to achieve the same result… I will have to make do with a daffodil lawn!   I bought 200 February Gold daffodils and got the crowbar out (I’ve never had much success with bulb planters)

I scattered the bulbs in two arcs on the lawn and planted where the bulbs fell – using a crowbar!

I planted the bulbs at about 4 x their own depth and brushed fine soil over the area to fill in the holes.  So far the squirrels have ignored them – they prefer tulips!

February Gold are one of the first daffodils to flower so I am keeping my fingers crossed for a show by the end of next February when I have a big birthday!
